Andy woke up the next morning to the someone repeatedly pounding on his hotel room door.  He quickly jumped out of bed and threw on his pair of pants from the night before.  He looked over at Jessica's bed, which was neatly made and noticed she wasn't there.  He figured the person at the door was her until he recognized her unmistakeable cursive writing on a piece of paper on his nightstand.

A- Out furniture shopping for our new place.  You looked too cute to wake up!  Have a great day!  Don't wait around for me.  There's a bottle of tylenol on the bathroom counter for your hangover.  Clearly you had more to drink last night than I had thought.

Hugs And Kisses, J

Andy smiled as he read her note...before realizing that the person pounding on the door was still pounding on the door and it was beginning to make his headache worse.

"Alright!  Just a second!"  Andy yelled as he jumped up and flung the door open, revealing a very groggy Mandy Moore.  It was very apparent that she had spent the entire night on a plane crying.

"I'm going to give you five minutes to explain everything that's been going on between the two of you."  she said angrily as she stormed into the hotel room.

"Mandy, nothing's going on between the two of us!"

"Oh, really?  Would you like to explain these then?"  she yelled out as she dropped a stack of 8x11 photos on the table in the room.

"What?  How did you get these?"

"A photographer sent them to my house!"  she said coldly.  "Would you care to change your story?"

"No.  Mandy, nothing happened between us.  We just ran into eachother here the other day.  We went out for coffee together at Starbucks, paparazzi found us and wouldn't leave us alone until they got a picture of us kissing.  So she jumped up, kissed me for less than a second so they could get their picture, and then they left us alone."

"So that's it?  That's all you want to admit to?"

"That's everything that happened between us."

"You sure about that?"  she said as she threw down copies of that mornings "New York Times" and "New York Post".  There were pictures of Jessica and Andy dancing at the club the night before on the front page of both papers.

"Oh, and we went to a club last night to celebrate.  Again, we were followed."

"To celebrate what?"  Mandy asked.  Her anger was beginning to reach the boiling point.  Andy swallowed hard.

"You should sit down."

"No thank you.  I'd rather stand.  You better start explaining to me why in the HELL her suitcases are here!!"  She screeched as she noticed the Luis Vuitton suitcases sitting in the corner.

"Alright I'll tell you if you just sit down and listen."  he said as he waited for her to take a seat.  "The other night I went downstairs to the reception desk to check to see if I had any messages.  And she was there, yelling at the receptionist for losing her reservation.  Every hotel uptown was booked.  So since my hotel room had two beds in it I figured I'd be a nice guy and let her stay with me.  So the next morning I wake up, and she's already gone to Starbucks.  But she left me a note to come join her if I wanted."

"So you did?"

"Obviously.  Anyway, she's there looking in the "Times" for a roommate because as I'm sure you know, she's moving to New York.  Anyways, my new coach that I just hired is from New York, so I was looking for a place to stay."

"Oh don't even say what I think you're going to say."

"I thought it would be a good idea if we rented a place together since neither one of us is going to be here long term and it would be hard to find someone who could afford rent for an apartment like the one she was looking at.  She was totally against the idea, but after some coersion on my part she agreed to it."

"Oh my God!"  Mandy said as she covered her mouth with her hand and sat down on the corner of his bed.  "My best friend and my ex-boyfriend..."  she said in disbelief.

"Mands...it's just out of convenience.  We're only going to be there a year, and we'll probably never even be there at the same time.  We're both busy people, you know that."

"I just need to get out of here and think about how I feel about this."  she said as she got up to leave.

"Before you go, there's one more thing you should know."

"What's that?"

"Last night, I tried to kiss her, and she wouldn't kiss me because she truely cares about you.  I just thought you'd want to know that.  She never intended to hurt you in any way."

"I know she didn't."  she said as she closed the door behind her.
