**4 Years Earlier**

"WELCOME HOME!!!"  Mandy Moore squealed as her roommate, Jessica Vanderbilt arrived back at their luxurious Hollywood apartment after spending nearly three months in Europe filming her latest movie, Vanity Fair.  "How was Europe?"

"It was great.  Having Jeremy there the last month made it bearable."  Jessica explained, referring to her boyfriend of nearly three years.  "I'm just glad to be back in the states where I can eat normal, everyday American food.  Who is this?"  Jessica asked pointing to a man with brown, messy hair who was sitting on the couch in the livingroom.  Noting Jessica's quizical look, Mandy offered her explanation.

"Jess, this is my boyfriend Andy."  Mandy smiled, clearly smitten with the bum on the couch.

"Oh, it's so nice to finally meet you!"  Jessica cooed.  "I've been hearing Mandy gush over you for months! It's so nice to be able to put a name with the face."  She said, offering her hand to Andy.

"Same here."  He replied, politely shaking her hand.  "Do you need any help with your bags or anything like that?"  He asked, already heading for the door.

"It's alright, Anton is bringing them up."

"Do you ever give that poor man a rest?"  Mandy laughed.

"When I hired him as my assistant, it was made very clear that he was on call 24/7.  Besides, if he hated it so much, he surely would have quit by now."

"You're probably right.  Anyways, Andy and I were going to go out to a movie later tonight.  Are you up for it?"

"No thanks, I'm really tired from my flight.  Maybe some other time."

**6 Months Later**

Jessica Vanderbilt had been busy shooting her latest movie "The Notebook" in North Carolina.  After a long day of filming, she arrived back at her empty hotel room.  She turned on her cell phone, and dialed her voice mail.  She had four new messages, two from her mom, one from her dad and the last from Mandy.  She didn't say much, just that she needed to talk to her right away.  She sounded upset, like she had been crying.  Jessica hit speed dial #2 and waited for Mandy to pick up.

"Andy?"  she said after the first ring.

"No, it's Jess.  Is everything alright?"  she questioned while removing her high-heeled boots, making a mental note to NEVER wear them again.

"Nooooo.  Everything isn't alright."  Mandy cried out.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

"It's Andy...he broke up with me the other day.  He said that he just couldn't do the Hollywood thing anymore and that he felt his time with me was taking away from his tennis.  What am I going to do?"

"You're going to do what everyone else who has been dumped does.  Get over the bastard."  Jessica laughed, trying to be lighthearted about the situation.  "If he feels his time is better spent with his tennis racket then with you, why would you want to be with him anyway?  Move on and find yourself a guy who appreciates you for the amazing person that you are."

"How do I do that?"

"I don't know.  You just do.  Remember when Jeremy and I broke up?  I didn't shower for days, and the only thing I ate for two weeks was ice cream.  The faster you accept the fact that it's over, the fewer pounds you gain and the less amount of time you lose.  You move on, because it's the only thing that you can do."  Jessica consoled as she turned on the water of the spacious bath tub in the hotel bathroom.

"What are you doing?"

"The same thing that you should be doing.  Drawing a nice relaxing bubble bath."

"Ok."

"Everything will be alright and work out for the best you know."

"I hope you're right."
